Candles of Snippets

Hello!  Merry Christmas!

A quick post that I started on the 23rd when I was supposed to be wrapping presents. Just wanted to get a card to Di for her Pixie's Playhouse 311 &312, but when I checked it was too late. So now I'm submitting my card to Weeks 313 & 314.

My card really is made of snippets! I notice the date stamp says Feb but that's an error. Should be Dec. I have to take the sim card out of my camera to transfer pics to my computer (long story) and I don't always re-set the date correctly. :-(

I made this card CASEing one I made last year when Taylor of Taylored Expressions visited Minneapolis at my favorite craft store and showed us how to make a fancier card using her candle die called Poinsettia Candles. I don't believe it is available any longer. This card is made with SU Thick Whisper White cardstock and is top-folding. I partially cut the candle out of several snippets of white, silver, red and green then paper pieced them onto the silver cut out. A chore, but I ended up liking the simplicity of the card. The silver mirror paper from My Favorite Things. The red poinsettia part is from a SU Cherry Cobbler scrap and the green is a tiny bit of DCWV foiled cardstock. I wish I could find another pack of it! The greeting is inside and if I remember correctly, was silver embossed. It's been mailed, of course.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a Very Merry Christmas. Have a Wonderful New Year too. See you next year.

Happy Hugs!
