Some Cards and Some Snippets

Hi Friends! Have a few cards to post that I have been working on. Hope you enjoy. So many were really fun to make!

First up is a card made to post as an entry for the last Retro Rubber Challenge but I missed the deadline, alas. The challenge is to use old stamps, which I have done.  As I am not ready for autumn yet, I still love to use flowers on my card.

My card was made with snippets of designer paper from an unknown company on a card base of Stampin'Up! heavy white cardstock. For fun I cut the paper on an angle and matted each piece with black cardstock from Bazzil. My focal point is an oldie but goodie flower from the SU set called Stipple Floral that is from 1998! I did not know the names of some of the flowers, so Splitcoaststamers members found out for me. It is called  Morning Glory  and is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black . The coloring was done ages ago, with generic colored pencils in various pale blues and greens, and the snippet was in my "to do" box. The blue of the paper matches the flower much better in real life! Honest! Narrow snippets of black cardstock help ground the two areas. To me the card looked like a sympathy card, so used another old stamp saying Deepest Sympathy from JustRite Clear on the inside. I am entering this card in the Pixie's Crafty Workshop Playground.

Next up are a few of the 12 cards I made fund raising for Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota. I've adopted one dog from them, and for the last year have been  fostering  then helping dogs get adopted. I still have Digger. He's doing well  for a really senior dog. The gray one and "woof" ones are sympathy cards for pet owners and the pink one is a fun birthday card. This Shih Tzu stamp is from Rubber Hedgehog Rubber Stamps and fussy cut out. The cardstock is SU Basic Gray as is the ink. The embossing folder is from Darice. Isn't it wonderful?

Next up the 3 woofs are saying goodbye. The die is from 7 Seven Paper/Studio Calico. The simple sentiment is from My Favorite Things Grand Peaceful Wildflowers set. I just used white and black for a peaceful card of sympathy.
Lastly is a pink Shih Tzu looking pup that is saying happy birthday inside. I used  SU retired Pretty in Pink cardstock with Impression Obsession 6-in-1 Frames dies in a couple of sizes. The stamp is from the SU set called Bella & Friends. I used a regular pencil to try to make her look furry like the Shih Tzu breed! It was really fun to try to do.

So that's it from here for now. Whew, a long post for me.Thanks so much for stopping by!

  4. Gorgeous card Jeanne - and I recognised the Morning Glory immediately! Some varieties have a white centre that seems to glow like a little white neon light in the sunshince - so pretty. Lovely to see you playing along with us!
