Hop to Stop 2016 - Wonderful You

Hello!

I am a bit late to this hop, but wanted to acknowledge Becca Cruger at The Damsel of Distress. She  posted a heart-rendering post recently alerting the stamping community to this hop. I am in complete support! Verbal domestic violence has appeared in my family, not physical, (thank heavens).

Here is my card in support of this cause. I hope some of my faithful and wonderful readers will join in. Kudos to all those who have before me.

Thinking to remind victims of domestic violence that they are wonderful, I pulled out My Favorite Things Simply Fabulous Saying set. Works well, I think. The words are heat embossed in white. I used Bazzill cardstock in purple, the color of this cause, and PaperTrey Inc. white for a simple card. Added 3 clear stones from Pretty Pink Posh for some bling and finished up with the diagonal strips of white cardstock. Fun how the stones appear pale purple.

Thanks for visiting today. I am thrilled to have received many comments lately! Thank you! Thank you!

Eeek! Halloween Scary Words

Happy almost Halloween.

Here's a entrant to the October Challenge #49 at The Retro Rubber Challenge Blog. I only make a few Halloween cards mostly for the grandchildren. I couldn't seem to get a good picture...maybe a ghost making that shadow? ;-)

I got this Hero Arts background stamp called Eeek in a package deal from another blogger who was selling off her stamps. I don't know how old it is, but I've had it well over a year, maybe two. It took many tries to get the words all to show nice and black. The pumpkin  is a die cut out of orange glitter paper and it is from my Halloween stash where is has languished forever.  Happy Halloween is just stamped inside. A pretty simple card, but I like it.

Take care and don't let the spooky goblins that come around scare you on the 31st.

Thanks for visiting! I will visit you too, so leave a comment. :-)

A Taped Smile With Flower

Hello!  Somehow the month of September got away from me and here we are in the middle of October. My mojo was away for part of the time, but I did get some cards ready to try and sell at a bazaar. Some did! Yay!

I have long belonged to Splitcoaststampers (SCS) but rarely post. Their newest challenge called Falliday Fest has some great ideas and techniques new to me, so I tried this one called Masquerade by Dini K using painters tape for masking.

Using 3M Blue painter's tape, I placed it in rows right onto the cutting plate of my Big Shot. I die cut the word Smile from Cas-Ual Fridays Stamps, Fri-Dies, and the flower from Penny Black, called Coy, separately and carefully peeled them off and stuck them to the Ranger water color paper. After daubing and blending color on top with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, and Peacock Feathers, I then spritzed the whole card front with water. After drying and trying to flatten out the piece, I removed the tape and like magic, my design shows! What fun! To finish I just glued it to a top folding card base. No sentiment inside, yet. I'll keep it in my stash for just the right occasion to arrive.

A big lover of flowers, I am entering this card in The Flower Challenge as well as putting it on SCS. I am loving all the flower cards posted! Check them out, if you haven't already.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I sure appreciate the views and comments. Smiling today!
