A Christmas Heart Challenge

Hi again! Twice in one month! Aren't you impressed? tee hee

I recently bought the Memory Box Heart of Hearts die and could not resist the Christmas Heart challenge over at Merry Monday. I keep thinking I should start my holiday cards earlier this year. This is the first!

This card was so fun to make as I fell in love with the festive heart die after receiving a card using it from Darnell back in February.

To make my card I first cut a piece of water color paper (not sure from where) and sponged Distress Ink in Festive Berries and Peeled Paint onto the taped down die. I wanted to get each and every little heart colored. You can see the transition between colors, but it is OK, I think. I have had these inks for ages, but haven't done much with blending. The sentiment uses the same green is done with a "no name" Merry Christmas stamp I got at a LSS that has closed. I just used a piece of tape to mask off the merry. Can you see the word "at" is hand drawn? I do not have a stamp. I used an old Marvy LePlumeII marker in Jungle Green to do it. The oval is from EK Success with a little sponging around the edges and the card base is Red Pepper Linen from The Paper Company . Just for fun I used the old whale style Ticket Corner punch from Stampin' Up! on the top of the card base. Whew! One card done!

I hope you enjoy my card. Thanks for coming by to visit.
