Being Grateful and HYCCT1220

Am feeling grateful today for the beautiful Fall weather we have had lately. My dog Jetta and I have enjoyed being outside and walking in the leaves.  The trees were so beautiful just last week, but, alas, most are getting quite bare.

My card was made for the Gratitude Campaign by Susan over at Simplicity. She is so right, too many people just skip over Thanksgiving right  to Christmas. I also will submit this card for  the Splitcoaststampers HYCCT1220: Hope is in the Air card drive. The swing is in the air, and so are leaves. These few will be in the air soon, lol. I am so bummed to not get a better picture for you. It really is a pretty card, if I say so myself...

The dark chocolate card base, golden layer, ribbon, and the sentiment are all from Gina K. Design, and the images are from her "The Giving Tree" set illustrated by Theresa Momber. I used Early Expresso and Crumb Cake inks from Stampin' Up as well as some retired Dusty Durango orange paper. The grey squirrel is inked in Memento's London Fog.  He is also stamped inside leaving room for a handwritten note. Tools used are my Big Shot, a Spellbinders oval die, Tombo adhesive and SU dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon!

Introducing Jetta

This is Jetta, the Shih Tzu mix dog I adopted from a rescue group last summer. Jetta is approximately 8 years old - a senior dog - like me! Tee hee. He is only 9 1/2 pounds. What a cutie. Right? This picture was taken in my living room where you can see some of his squeaky toys. His bed is in the background, but it is only used for toys. He is quite good at playing fetch, and is a good sleeper near me during the day and at night. Jetta is sometimes shy of strangers, and is quite fearful in the car, but he does wag his tail readily when my neighbors say hello. My daughters and grandchildren love him dearly, as I do, and he is welcome to visit their houses anytime. He gets along well with all the cats! Yes, I miss Reba, but have always wanted another Shih Tzu after losing my Chang Li 3 years ago. Some of you can see his picture on SCS as my avatar. I am the only dog and cat lover in my family.

Bye for now. I will show some cards next time. Have been busy making Fall and Halloween cards with a few winter ones thrown in. Whew.

CASology:Week #12:SHOE-Pretty Birthday Shoe

Hello Everyone!

Camera problems solved!Well, I finally bought a card reader tp get my pictures onto my computer. Take that, camera connection!

Anyway, I've quite a few pictures to post, but first of all it's my DD birthday today! Happy Birthday, Stephanie!

I couldn't resit showing this card for CASology's shoe challenge. I had made this card yesterday after admiring all the shoes on SCS, especially one by Lee Conrey using the Fabulous You stamp by Stampin' Up! Here is my CASE, thanks Lee. My DD loves black and white and silver glittery things, so this card really pleased her. My shoe is wet embossed and jewels adorn the flowers. Sorry they don't photograph very well - it's probably my camera work. They do sparkle, though. The ribbon is silver threads on white by Textured Trios and I just made a simple knot. Also not (pun intended) showing well is the dry embossed black swirly background called D'Vine Swirl by Cuttlebug which is placed behind the Framlits - Label Collection die. I embossed in silver a Happy Birthday greeting inside and placed a black embossed little butterfly from the same stamp set nearby. All paper is SU.

More cards to come. I hope you enjoy visiting with me and thanks to all who come by and comment.

Help - My camera won't talk to my comuter

Hello Everyone - sorry to be gone so long. Am getting used to a new dog, kid-sitting the 3 Grands and my camera stopped communicating with my computer. The model is not even listed anymore. I am not sure which is older - both 10 or more years old. I will try any and all ideas, but no, cannot get a new one of either!

I have been making cards - really! Even made a happy new year one. I do look at many of your blogs every day. So many great cards to see. Thanks to you all!

A sticky and hot summer here in MN, but great in the 70's this weekend. Hope your weekend was happy and crafty!

Leave me a comment. I try to leave them as much as possible too!

R.I.P. Reba Li

Today, 5/25/2012, I am just too sad. Reba went quite quickly, and is in heaven now with my Michael and our Shih Tzu, Chang Li.

Bye...sweet kitty.

My Thinking Owl OLW76

Good afternoon! Lately I have been trying to do some more simple cards. Susan at Simplicity really inspires me. I think placing the sentiment is the hardest part. What do you all think? It's my first time trying to join this type of challenge. This week One Layer Wednesday  (OLW76) asks for white and gray with a pop of color, so I made this card today. The paper is Whisper White and the ink is Basic Gray from Stampin' Up! The little owl - is he sleeping or thinking? lol  He is from Inkadinkado, and I just love him. No bling on this card, just used my marker from ZIG Writer in Pure Green to highlight where the owl sits. The valentine-y stamp (see the tiny hearts) is a 1996 stamp from Darcie's. I didn't want the branch to be red, so I just stamped happy valentine's day inside in red, a surprise for whomever gets this card. Fun to do. Thanks for coming by today. Bye for now.

Tag it!

Happy New Year from a now snowy Minnesota! It is pretty, but icy this morning. This card I made last week for the 4th Grade fund raiser at my dear grandson's school. Gavin is a pretty clean cut kind of guy, so this card he should like. Turns out it is a CAS which just fits The Paper Players #79, their newest challenge. Not my usual type of card! I inked up a long ignored birthday stamp from Good Impressions while the tag enhances the present. The only bling is some Stickles by Ranger on the candles and some generic blue and white twine from my stash. The hand-cut tag is secured with a Stampin' Up! Mini Brad with the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The base is Whisper White and the green is Kiwi Kiss, I think. The pretty blue is from Bazzill Basics. The ink is SU Basic Gray.

I really have been creating the last few weeks, but am just getting around to the photographing and posting. Why is that so difficult for me? Doing the photos, I mean. Also, does lazy fit me? Yup. Thanks for looking at my blog today.
