Anxious for Spring

These colorful and simple cards were made to send as a surprise to some members at Splitcoaststampers as a birthday Random Acts of Kindness. I used a free digital design from Squigglefly.com as the hummingbird focal image and colored it with watercolor pencils from Staedtler called Karat Aquarell. Colors used are #6 (purple), #56 (yellow green), #5 (medium green) and #2 (red orange) that are blended with a aqua pen from Stampin' Up! The faint blue sky is sponged with Ranger's Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass and Antique Linen. The white cardstock and pretty ribbon are from my stash and the limey green and dark lilac paper is most likely SU! The ink is Versafine Onyx Black and the frame is Bazzill Basics Raven. This was fun to make and feeds my longing for spring and summer and COLOR.

Using colors in the purple family again, this butterfly card is also a simple design, but I used some Shimmer Spritz from Tsukinko to jazz it up. The sentiment and paper is from SU!; the set is called Flight of the Butterfly. The main image is from Hero Arts. I stamped the butterfly in Onyx Black again, spritzed for shimmer and cut it out. To pop-up the butterfly I used a SU! dimension
and scored the white cardstock with the Scor-Buddy from Scor-Pal.

I like to let my card recipients re-use the cards, so I just put a note inside saying "Happy Birthday" and that they may send the card on its way. Thanks for looking at my blog today.

Stamping in Minnesota's Winter

These are a couple of the cards that I made for the Snow, Snow, Snow swap on Splitcoaststampers. While I am getting tired of shoveling out my car, the snow is beautiful and I like my cards. What do you think?

The " Love Snow" stamp and snowman stamps are from The Stamp Pad Co. with a little 2006 Stampin' Up! red heart. White paper is from my stash and the Real Red paper is from SU. Used the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder, and VersaMark with SU Night of Navy ink for the heat embossed background.

This cute little guy sledding and "Snow Fun" are from Close to My Heart on SU paper. He is colored with SU and ZIG markers. I used Allene's True Snow for the snowbank and falling snow.

I didn't photograph any of my Christmas cards to show, but am now more than ready to use flower stamps! Thanks for visiting my blog.

Love These Roses!

Good Morning. This card uses my new Stampin' Up! textured impression plate called Manhattan Flower. I made this as a thank you card for one of my daughters who granted my wish for a rose stamp and gifted me this embossing folder too. The technique is a CASE from Patty Bennett at Patty's Stamping Spot that she called Watercolor Roses. The White Craft ink and embossed image was spritzed with water and the color was applied with an Aquapainter. Not having but one reinker (yellow), I grabbed the colors directly from the dye ink pads. Colors blended are all from Stampin' Up!, Yoyo Yellow (retired), Pink Pirouette, Rose Red. The roses and embossed green leaves also from SU were attached. The layering paper is Rose Red and a SU Thank You stamped and embossed inside. Hope you like this card, my first attempt at blending inks with water. Thanks for looking today.

Supplies:

All Stampin' Up! except glossy paper from
ANW and ZIG green marker

We are here! Watch and see what is created...

The Real Reba Li
Reba Li sits on my crafting table and watches me create. Mostly, though, she wants some ribbon to play with. I create custom greeting cards for the enjoyment of family and friends, and Reba helps. Ha Ha.

Watch for pictures of my latest creations coming soon.
